一王发愿「愿我能早成佛道，来救度这些造业的人民!要让他们全都能成佛，一个都不留下!」後来就成为一切智成就如来。 另一王发愿「假如我不先度尽所有造罪受苦的眾生，令他们都能安樂而成佛道，我就不愿意成佛!」就是地藏菩蕯。 婆罗门女其母信邪教并常轻视三宝，母亲因生前所造的业力故死後堕无间地狱，婆罗门女为了救度母亲离开地狱，在觉華定自在王如来像前诚心祈求，并一日一夜一心不亂的念佛，使其功德让母亲得以离开地狱生忉利天。 光目女对着清净莲華目如来像发誓，若我的母亲能够永远脱离恶道與卑贱、永远不再生为女身! 从今以後至百千万亿劫中，我愿一一救度所有世界中的罪苦眾生，救他们脱离地狱、恶鬼、畜生三恶道，直到令他们都成佛後，我才愿成就无上正等正觉的佛果!! 地藏菩萨见闻利益品讲述了见闻地藏菩萨的名号與形象，对现在的眾生有什麼样的功德利益。我 们遇到各种情况时，应该怎样通过祈祷依靠地藏菩萨来利益现世的生活。
In one life, Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva was a king who made a wish to save all sentient beings before attaining Buddhahood. In another life, Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva made a wish to save all Hell beings before attaining Buddhahood. more about Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva: http://web.singnet.com.sg/~alankhoo/Ksitigarbha.htm Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva is often referred to, because of his vow to not achieve Buddhahood until "all the Hells are empty", as the Bodhisattva of the Hell beings. But his vow actually encompasses all sentient beings, being similar to that of Living Buddha Lien-shen, who vows to reveal all the secrets of even the hidden teachings, in order to save sentient beings, even if he has to suffer retribution, even the pulverization of his bones and flesh.
