「正覺佛塔」塔內，供奉的釋迦牟尼佛。傳說此佛像，是彌勒菩薩親手所製。因為佛陀當時正在忉利天宮，為其母摩耶夫人說法，不在人間。彌勒菩薩太想念佛陀，而依佛陀的相貌，塑出的形像。
Within the Mahabodhi Temple, there is the Shakyamuni Buddha statue that devotees pray & make offerings to. This statue had been reportedly hand sculpted by Maitreya Bodhisattva. Maitreya Bodhisattva had missed Buddha very much during his absence from the human world as Buddha was preaching the Dharma to his mother, Queen Mahamaya in the heavenly palace of Trayastrimsa Heaven (Indra Heaven). Thus, he had followed closely on Buddha's physical appearance to sculpt this statue.
